Be a part of the movement!

Northwest Women’s Cyclocross Project is proud to announce the founding of our IMG_5197cyclocross development program for young women!  The elite development team consists of U23 rider Shannon Mallory and 17-18 junior rider Hayden Gizinski.  HaydenYou can read more about the riders and staff on the team page here.

In addition to supporting these talented young women The Project is – in line with its mission – creating a grassroots program for junior women of all levels who have a passion for the sport!

Riders who wish to be part of the grassroots program will receive support and mentorship from Hayden, Shannon, and former pro racer/team manager Jessica Cutler including guided prerides at local races, skills clinics, and basic training & race day advice.  Grassroots riders will also receive some race day mechanical support* from team mechanic Niels Thogersen who has worked as a professional team mechanic for the last four years.  Grassroots riders will receive the support of The Project partner club First Strike Velo/Slalom Consulting who will have tents, trainers, and a cheering squad at every local race!  Finally, grassroots riders will receive deals and discounts on sponsor merchandise throughout the season.

There is no fee to join the The Project’s grassroots program nor is it required that you have ever raced before; the only requirements are:

  1. Grassroots riders much purchase at least one team kit from our clothing sponsor Vie13 Kustom Apparel;
  2. Grassroots riders must commit to doing at least five (5) races per season in the team kit; and
  3. Grassroots riders must sign and abide by a rider code of conduct ensuring that everyone involved with The Project is a good ambassador to the sport and our community at large.
